Man Jerell Thomas, 37, was slapped with some serious charges after killing Oak Park Detective Allan Reddins, 40, who was just trying to solve a bank heist. The suspect was also shot by cops and is now 'in the pipe' for life. Oak Park Police Chief Shatonya Johnson said Reddins had been on the force since May 20, 2003 - basically an eternity in cop years.
Thomas faces first-degree murder, attempted murder of a peace officer, possession of a stolen firearm, and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. Looks like he won't be getting a 'free pass' to his next gig.
